Dopo il successo del Gigantour del 2005,è stata annunciata per l'America una nuova ondata di eventi metal: la Progressive Nation, infatti, sarà un mega show che vedrà coinvolti Dream Theater, Opeth, 3 e Between the Buried and me. I gruppi si esibiranno, in sequenza, su un unico enorme palco. L'idea, manco a dirlo, nasce dalla mente iperattiva di Mike Portnoy.
